Breezy northern Europe, rain Norway & eastern Baltic
High pressure resides over northwest Europe. A trough of low pressure and easterly winds affect Iberia. Heavy rain and thunderstorms southeastern Spain bring a threat of flash flooding. Drier in northern Spain. Fine in Portugal with sunshine and dry weather here. Italy and Greece will be fair with more sunshine and stay dry. Breezy for the Aegean Sea. Showers in western Turkey but dry with sunshine to the east.
France will be dry with lots of sunshine, although cloudier in the north and spots of rain near the English Channel. Some broken cloud in the Low Countries but sunny spells too as a cold front moves away southeastwards. Cloud and some patchy rain affecting central Germany and northern Poland. Fair in southern Germany and the Alps. Warm and sunny through Hungary, Austria and Switzerland.
Breezy with sunny spells in Denmark. Breezy with rain clearing to showers in the Baltic States as well as Finland. Sweden will be bright and breezy with good spells of sunshine. Frequent rain and showers affecting western parts of Norway where it will be breezy too.
High pressure extends further into central Europe with plenty of dry and sunny weather on offer across the continent. Further thundery rain for southern & central Spain, and a risk of showers extending into southern Portugal. Northern Spain and the Pyrenees largely dry with isolated showers.
Dry and sunny for France, the Alps, Germany and the Low Countries. Highest temperatures in central-western France reaching 33C. A weak front may give some cloud for central-eastern countries from Slovakia to northern Romania and Ukraine, but little if any rain. Staying breezy but dry for the Greek Islands.
Dry for much of Sweden. Some rain for the Baltic states and Finland, whilst renewed wind and rain moves into Norway from the west through the day, becoming very west over southwestern mountains later, with snow on higher terrain. Highs of 17C eastern Sweden.
