Dry across most of the continent
Strong winds and heavy rain affects eastern Spain, and some further snow is likely over higher ground. Largely dry toward the Biscay coasts and across Portugal, highs of 13C in the Algarve. Rain also affects the Balearics and Sardinia. Rain or mountain snow for the Italian peninsula, whilst northern Italy and the Alps will be dry with sunshine. A few showers in Greece .
Very cold air remains across central, east & south-eastern Europe, widely near or below freezing all day from southern Germany to the Balkans and Ukraine. High pressure brings extensive dry weather to the continent. Sunshine for central-northern France and the Low Countries. Cloudy skies for northern Germany, Poland and the Baltic region. Rain for south-west Norway, or snow toward the north. Mainly dry in Sweden and Finland. Fairly mild for southern Scandinavia, 7C for Denmark.
Low pressure over the western Mediterranean brings continued heavy rain for south-eastern Spain, the Balearics and Sardinia. Some snow is expected for the mountains. Rain may also affect Sicily and southern Italy. Gales around coasts. Meanwhile, much of central & north-western Spain and Portugal will be dry with sunshine.
High pressure centred over south-eastern Europe brings widespread dry conditions. Plenty of sunshine for France, although variable cloud around the Biscay coast. Staying cold across central Europe. Cloudy for northern Germany, Poland and Ukraine. Sunny but cold for south-eastern Europe. Cool for Greece and Turkey. Showers for Cyprus. Relatively mild for southern Scandinavia. Patchy rain spreads north across Norway and Sweden, with a lot of cloud. Bright, cold and breezy in Finland.
