Wet and windy northern Europe, heavy showers in central Mediterranean


Friday
Isolated showers over Spain on Thursday but overall it will be a dry day for Iberia with lots of sunshine, always more cloud to the north. The risk of some thunderstorms in Corsica and Sardinia as well as central and southern Sweden. Greece and Turkey will be dry with good spells of sunshine.
Fair across France and sunny too. Sunshine afecting the Low Countries and Germany whilst Poland will have cloud and some patchy rain. Scattered showers in Austria and Hungary with the risk of a thunderstorm in Switzerland.
A breezy day for Denmark with rain in the north. Windy to with widespread gales in Norway, rain affecting much of the country. Windy for Sweden but dry and warm here. Some cloud in the Baltic States but staying dry. Windy and rain affecting Finland.


Saturday
Dry and mostly sunny in Portugal, Spain and the Balearics. Corsica and Sardinia should stay dry with spells of sunshine, Italy largely dry with just a few light showers dotted around but the Adriatic coast is likely to see some heavier showers. Mostly dry and sunny for Greece and Turkey, with just a few showers in the northeast of the latter.
Much of France will be dry with spells of sunshine but cloud and rain will move into the north and then on into the Low countries later. Rain over Switzerland, Austria, Poland and Hungary will move further southeast with mostly dry weather following from the north, although northern parts of Germany and Poland are likely to some showery bursts of rain.
Unsettled generally across Scandinavia and the Baltic States with rain or showers and windy too, although central parts of Sweden, in particular, are likely to have a fair amount of dry weather with some sunshine.
Warm or very warm across central and southern areas with temperatures in the mid to high 20s and locally exceeding 30C in the south but turning progressively cooler and fresher to the north, especially in the rain over Scandinavia.
