Europe forecast - June 19, 2018
Unsettled North
Settled South

Issued: 0530hrs Tuesday 19th June 2018
Duty forecaster: Matthew Hugo

Unsettled weather dominates across more northern areas, drier further south where very warm and humid.

Tuesday
Into Tuesday and unsettled conditions will dominate across much of northern Europe with some rain and drizzle developing across northern areas of the UK but it is across Norway, Sweden and Finland in particular where very wet and very windy weather will dominate as low pressure dominates the weather. In complete contrast will be across much of central, southern and eastern areas of Europe where high pressure will dominate. Fine weather and very warm weather with plenty of sunshine extends across France, into Germany and eastwards to Poland and other eastern areas of Europe. Equally, similar weather dominates across Iberia and also eastwards throughout much of the Med. A few heavy and thundery showers may develop in places, but away from northern Europe a fine day is forecast.

Wednesday
During Wednesday and little change is predicted with further low pressure dominated conditions across most of the UK and up into Scandinavia where it will remain particularly wet and windy. A greater risk of some thunderstorms is possible across Spain and Portugal on Wednesday, than compared with Tuesday, but, otherwise much of mainland Europe will maintain mainly dry and settled conditions with plenty of sunshine and it will also remain very warm and humid too, if not rather hot in places.
