Sunny and warm in central and southern Europe with lots of sunshine, more mixed in the north

 
 
 

Saturday
The heatwave continues for Iberia, widespread high temperatures in the south and west are likely to top 40C. Much fresher toward the Biscay coast, nearer 20C. Lots of hot sunshine for the Mediterranean, including Italy and southern France. Thundery showers forming inland for Greece and the southern Balkans. A period of rain affects northern France, Belgium and the Netherlands. Patchy rain extends into western Germany also. A few showers for eastern Europe and staying very warm. An area of low pressure over southern Scandinavia brings rain and some thundery bursts to southern Norway and Sweden, but likely clears from Denmark. Risk of thundery showers in southern Finland. The far north is largely dry.

Sunday
Fine out across much of Spain and Portugal with plenty of sunshine and staying dry too. Fine and warm across the Balearics as well as Corsica and Sardinia. Italy is also going to enjoy a fine and sunny day, becoming very warm with lots of sunshine. Greece and Turkey should also be dry and warm, again with lots of sunshine.
Plenty of sunshine across much of France, although the far north is like to be cloudy with some outbreaks of showery rain. Generally dry through the Low Countries although some showers in central and northern Germany. Heavy showers and some thunderstorms affecting parts of western Poland. Hungary will have some thunderstorms in the east but the west should be dry. Austria and Switzerland will be mostly dry with sunny spells.
Some cloud and rain affecting Denmark. The Baltic states should be dry with lots of sunshine. Finland is also like to be dry and mostly sunny, although to some showers in the north. Central and southern Sweden will be dry with sunny spells but there will be some rain in the north. Norway will also be dry and bright in the south, but some rain in northern areas.
