Breezy northern areas; cold northern Scandinavia

Thursday
High pressure extends across much of continental Europe, bringing settled weather to many countries. Some morning fog patches, but there should be plenty of sunshine. Very warm for Spain, Portugal and France, widely 23 to 27C, up to 30C in south-west Iberia. Lots of sunshine for Italy, the Alps and Balkans.
Partly cloudy for Germany and the Low Countries as a weak front lies across northern-central Europe, with a westerly breeze, which will bring a blustery day to Denmark, southern Sweden and Poland, but fairly mild at 12 to 15C. Rain affects south-west Norway. Sweden will be largely dry, although patchy drizzly rain is possible. A mix of snow and rain for southern Finland and western Russia. Very cold in northern Scandinavia, near or below freezing in some places by day.
A bright day for Greece , although some rain may affect northern Turkey. Thundery rain over the eastern Mediterranean may affect Crete.

Friday
High pressure will reside across western Europe, bringing continued fair weather to Iberia, and temperatures up to 30C in southern Spain and Portugal. A cold front drifts south across central Europe, bringing heavy rain to Germany, which spreads into the Alps, giving snow to higher mountains. Patchy rain also moves south across France, but amounts should be small. Brightening skies for northern France and the Low Countries. Increasingly windy for the Alps and southern France. Dry and warm for Italy, the Balkans and Greece. Showery rain affects Poland, with persistent rain passing south into the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Rain extends further south & east into Romania and Ukraine later in the day. Cool for Scandinavia, with rain and mountain snow for northern Norway. Much of Sweden and Finland should stay dry.
