Very warm around the Black Sea


Tuesday
Contrasting weather across Europe - dry in the north and south, but unsettled in central areas. Hot across Iberia, with sunny skies for Spain and Portugal, highs 27 to 30C in the south-west. Low pressure resides broadly across central Europe. Unsettled with heavy rain followed by showers with a risk of thunder across France and the western Alps. Heavy showery rain for the Low Countries and northern parts of Germany but brighter in the south. Sunny spells for Italy, with just well scattered showers. Dry across much of the Balkans and Adriatic region. Sunny and very warm for Greece and the Black Sea, highs 24 to 27C. Thunderstorms affect central Turkey and Cyprus. A zone of showery rain across southern Poland, Hungary and western Romania. Fair and dry across Ukraine, Belarus, the Baltic states and western Russia. High pressure over Scandinavia brings chilly but dry weather across Norway, Denmark and Sweden. Snow showers for northern Finland, but dry in the south.


Wednesday
High pressure remains across northern Europe, producing easterly winds for southern Scandinavia and areas around the North Sea, whilst slack low pressure brings unsettled weather to central Europe. Spain and Portugal will be dry with warm sunshine. Showers are expected to break out increasingly through the day across France, the Alpine countries, plus central & southern Germany and much of south-eastern Europe. Some slow moving heavy and thundery downpours are possible across the continent by afternoon. Scattered showers for the spine of Italy and mainland Greece. Much of the Mediterranean and Greek islands will be dry and sunny. Areas near the Black Sea will also stay dry. Thundery rain affects inland areas of Turkey. Breezy for the Baltic region and Denmark, but largely dry. Extensive dry conditions across Norway and Sweden - cool in the north, but fairly mild in the south.
