Downpours also for eastern countries
A mostly dry and sunny day for Spain and Portugal. Dry for the Balearic Islands with variable cloud cover. Mainly dry across Italy although some showers developing further north. Largely dry across Greece and Turkey.
Showers as well as longer spells of rain for many across France, although improving conditions across the south and west later. Outbreaks of rain for the Low Countries with thundery, heavy rain for Germany. Thunderstorms passing through Austria and Switzerland and into the western Czech Republic. Scattered showers for Poland but drier elsewhere across eastern Europe.
Mainly dry through Scandinavia but showers will affect south Norway and a few local showers across southwest Sweden. One or two scattered showers across northern parts of Finland but largely dry elsewhere here. Largely dry through the Baltics, however, the odd shower could affect some southern states. Some showers in the morning for Denmark but a drier afternoon. Portugal France Denmark
South and southwestern Europe will be generally dry and very warm with plenty of sunshine for Spain, Portugal, southern France and Italy. The western Alps should also stay fine, whilst some showers are possible further east. Scattered afternoon thunderstorms over the Balkan mountains. Mainly dry for Greece, Turkey and the eastern Med too.
Northern-central Europe will be much more unsettled, with areas of heavy rain and thundery showers for northern France, Germany and Poland. Scattered showers in the Low Countries. Winds strengthening later toward gale force for northwest France as a deep low approaches from the Atlantic.
Ukraine and Romania will see extensive areas of thunderstorms break out through the day. Meanwhile high pressure to the north brings fair weather and an easterly breeze across much of the Baltic and northern Scandinavia. However, areas of rain affect southern Norway and Denmark.
