A cold spell of wintry weather for northern parts of Europe


Monday
Mostly fair for Spain and Portugal with variable amounts of cloud and sunny spells though showers develop later for northwest Spain and Portugal. Fair for Italy with cloudier skies to the north, good spells of sunshine to the south. Dry and sunny for Greece and much of Turkey. Thunderstorms developing over southeastern Turkey.
Outbreaks of rain affect central France, Switzerland, southern Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria and southern Poland on Monday. Staying mostly dry but cloudy for Slovakia and Hungary. A cold but mostly bright day for northern France, the Low Countries and northern Germany with occasional coastal showers.
Cold and mostly bright for Denmark with occasional scattered showers. Rain clears from the Baltics to leave a mostly dry and bright afternoon here. Bright with scattered wintry showers for much of Norway, Sweden and Finland. Showers most frequent to the west.

Tuesday
Another mostly fair day for Iberia - cloudy for Portugal and western Spain with occasional showers, drier and bright to the east. Cloudy too for northern Italy with outbreaks of rain becoming heavier and more persistent through the afternoon. Dry and bright for Greece and western Turkey.
A fine day for France with occasional showers for western and southern areas. Mostly dry and bright for the Low Countries, Germany and the Czech Republic. Bright too for Poland with isolated showers. Outbreaks of rain and snow for Switzerland, Austria and Hungary - these clearing to the south later.
A cold, bright and dry day for Denmark. Bright too for the Baltic States with scattered wintry showers. Mostly dry and bright for Finland, Sweden and southern Norway. Wintry showers affecting western and northern parts of Norway.
