Rain spread south bringing colder weather to northern areas of Europe

Sunday
A cold but dry and sunny day across England into northern parts of France. Windy with snow showers across Belgium into Holland, Denmark and across northern Germany. Cold with an area of heavy snow forecast from Finland across The Baltic States, Belarus into Poland,The Czech Republic into Austria and Switzerland. Mainly dry and cold across Russia, The Ukraine into Romania, Hungry and the former Yugoslavia. Heavy snow is also expected across eastern parts of Turkey. Mainly dry cold across Greece and Bulgaria. Just a few showers for northern Italy with scattered showers for Corsica, Sardinia and Sicily. Continued mostly sunny across Spain and Portugal today. Some rain and snow across central France but dry in the far south. Cold and windy with sunny spells across Norway with snow expected across Sweden.



Monday
A fair day through Portugal and Spain with some good spells of sunshine. More dry weather to come over France and the Low Countries, this extending into Germany and Poland too. Dry conditions continue through Austria and Switzerland as well as Hungary.

Italy has a cloudier day with some outbreaks of rain, most of these in northern parts of the country. To the south showers will be heavy and thundery. Greece and Turkey are likely to be dry with good spells of sunshine here.

To the north a west to southwest flow affects most of Scandinavia. This brings cloud and rain to western Norway. Denmark has broken cloud with some sunny spells and it will be breezy. Sweden should be dry with sunny spells and dry weather. Cloud and some wintry showers through Finland and the Baltic States.
